Upper arm lift

Information on the upper arm lift

A loss of elasticity in the skin and superficial fascia, as well as a slackening of the muscles in the area of the posterior upper arm or inner thighs can lead to disturbing changes in these areas of the body.

As the skin only has a limited scope for contraction here, a reduction in volume can be achieved by liposuction; however, surgical removal of excess wrinkled skin is usually also necessary for sufficient tightening. Especially after massive weight loss due to dietary measures or bariatric surgery (gastric bypass surgery), skin laxity with loss of upper arm definition and a rather flabby appearance can occur.

Further details on the upper arm lift

In the area of the upper arm, an oval piece of skin can be removed from the inside of the upper arm near the armpit (with a slight loss of elasticity) so that the skin of the upper arm can be stretched and tightened longitudinally towards the armpit.

However, in order to reduce the circumference of the arm (circumferential), a further incision is usually required, which must extend from the armpit to just above the elbow in order to achieve the desired tightening by removing a spindle-shaped area of skin. The incision is made in such a way that the scar is located at the back of the upper arm, the least visible area.

By removing the inelastic, excess skin and subcutaneous tissue, an arm lift can achieve a significantly slimmer, more contoured appearance and eliminate the changes commonly referred to as "bat sleeves".

Complications and undesirable side effects are very rare after an upper arm lift. Swelling and sometimes slight bruising may occur. Temporary swelling in the forearm and hand area may also occur in the first few days after the operation.

Elevating the arms on a pillow overnight is very useful to promote lymphatic drainage. In the first few days after the operation, as after any surgical procedure, post-operative bleeding or infections may occur. Wound healing disorders can also occur, but usually heal without any problems. If someone tends to have poor scar healing, a somewhat bulging, reddened scar may remain

Customized compression garments ("Bolero") should be worn for the first 2-3 weeks to support wound healing. Showering is possible with a waterproof plaster from the 2nd day after the operation.

We monitor the wound healing process at regular intervals. However, resting the arms is obligatory in the first few weeks. Lymphatic drainage from 8-10 days after surgery helps to reduce swelling quickly.

As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of an upper arm lift varies depending on the extent of the procedure, the condition of the skin and tissue distribution. These are made up of the surgical fees, the fee of the assistant, the anesthesiologist and the fee of the surgeon. Of course, all costs incurred will be discussed in detail before the operation so that you know exactly what you can expect to pay.

We carry out this procedure from CHF 6,000.

Health insurance companies do not cover the application as it is an aesthetic treatment of choice.

The cost of an initial on-site consultation is CHF 250. This amount can be credited towards your treatment if it takes place within 6 months. If you do not show up for the bindingly agreed initial appointment, a cancellation fee of CHF 150 will be charged.

The following rule applies to agreed surgery appointments: In the case of planned and scheduled operations, it is often not possible for Medicine&Beauty AG to find a replacement patient in the event of a cancellation. Due to these planning difficulties, it is only possible to cancel surgery appointments free of charge if this is done in writing by the customer at least 7 days (calendar days) in advance by e-mail or WhatsApp.

For cancellations made less than 7 calendar days before the planned operation, the customer will be charged 50% of the previously agreed operation costs. Appointments canceled by Medicine&Beauty AG for health, medical or technical reasons cannot be refunded or compensated. An alternative date will be offered at no additional cost.
