Breast asymmetry

Information on breast asymmetry

A woman's breast normally develops between the ages of 11 and 14 (thelarche). Not only does the genetically predetermined mammary gland tissue grow, but also the surrounding fatty tissue and connective tissue supporting the breast. Significant irregularities can occur during this phase.

We humans are never really mirror-symmetrical, but if there is a clear difference in the size of the breasts and often also in the shape of the breasts, this is perceived as very disturbing and women suffer in their feminine self-esteem. breast asymmetries due to certain developmental/inhibition disorders such as the "tubular breast" (popularly known somewhat uncharitably as the "trunk breast") can also be the cause of a breast shape that is perceived as rather unattractive.

This situation can be managed well from a surgical point of view - whereby the surgeon should have a great deal of expertise in this difficult area. As a gynecologist, you are very familiar with this topic and are also used to finding an aesthetically very satisfactory solution due to other underlying breast diseases.

There are differentiated options, either by means of a lifting procedure, often combined with an implant insertion or autologous fat filling to compensate for size differences; sometimes also with a surgical spreading of the glandular tissue behind the nipple and a reduction of the areola. An individualized treatment concept must be planned and discussed with the patient in order to achieve the best result. Here too, we will be happy to advise you in detail on your individual problems.

Further details on breast asymmetry

As there are many different approaches to such a problem, depending on its severity, the cost of the procedure can vary greatly.
These can range between CHF 4,800 and CHF 12,000 , depending on how long the procedure takes, which different surgical concepts have to be combined and the costs of anesthesia and surgery. In any case, we will take the time to work outperfect surgical plan for you, explain the costs to you in detail and set them down so that you have a clearly defined cost framework.

The cost of an initial on-site consultation is CHF 250. This amount can be credited towards your treatment if it takes place within 6 months. If you do not show up for the bindingly agreed initial appointment, a cancellation fee of CHF 150 will be charged.

The following rule applies to agreed surgery appointments: In the case of planned and scheduled operations, it is often not possible for Medicine&Beauty AG to find a replacement patient in the event of a cancellation. Due to these planning difficulties, it is only possible to cancel surgery appointments free of charge if this is done in writing by the customer at least 7 days (calendar days) in advance by e-mail or WhatsApp.

For cancellations made less than 7 calendar days before the planned operation, the customer will be charged 50% of the previously agreed operation costs. Appointments canceled by Medicine&Beauty AG for health, medical or technical reasons cannot be refunded or compensated. An alternative date will be offered at no additional cost.
