Lip Fillers in Zurich with Hyaluronic Acid

Hyaluronic acid can be used to precisely adjust the volume, contour, and proportions of the lips. Dr. Peter Dietz, M.D., tailors each lip treatment in Zurich to the patient’s natural lip shape and desired changes.

Lip Filler Zurich –
Targeted Treatment for Volume, Contour, and Proportions

In lip augmentation, hyaluronic acid is injected into specific areas of the lips. Depending on the initial condition, this can be used to increase lip volume, define the contours more clearly, or adjust the proportion between the upper and lower lips. Minor asymmetries can also be taken into account when planning the treatment.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of the human body and is also used as the basis for modern lip fillers. For the lips, we use specially formulated products designed to suit the mobile and sensitive tissue in the oral area. At Medicine & Beauty, we use only top-quality products from established manufacturers such as Juvéderm, Croma, Merz, and Teosyal.

Not every lip treatment aims to create significantly more volume. Depending on the shape of the lips and the desired change, targeted contouring or a subtle increase in volume may be appropriate. The existing shape of the lips, the proportions of the face, and the individual’s anatomy are key factors.

In addition to traditional lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid, Medicine & Beauty also offers lip treatments using the patient’s own fat, as well as surgical options for altering lip shape, depending on the individual’s specific situation. These procedures are particularly suitable when a patient prefers a different form of volume or shape correction rather than a dissolvable filler. If you are interested in any of these options, please feel free to contact us.

During a personal consultation at his practice in Zurich, Dr. Peter Dietz, M.D., will assess your individual situation and discuss with you which changes are appropriate and realistic. He will take into account your lip shape, proportions, and desired outcome in order to tailor the treatment and the appropriate amount of hyaluronic acid specifically to your needs.

How much does lip augmentation cost in Zurich?

The cost of a lip treatment with hyaluronic acid depends primarily on the lip filler used and the amount required. The key factor is not using as much filler as possible, but rather a dosage that suits the existing lip shape and the desired change.

At Medicine & Beauty, the cost of lip fillers with hyaluronic acid ranges from CHF 380 to CHF 800, depending on the product and the amount used.

What factors influence the cost?

The exact cost of treatment depends, in particular, on the following factors:

  • Desired changes in volume, contour, or shape
  • required amount of hyaluronic acid
  • Hyaluronic acid product used
  • the individual condition of the lips

Personalized Consulting and Cost Planning

Before treatment, you will receive a transparent estimate of the expected costs. These costs depend on the hyaluronic acid product used, the amount required, and the planned scope of treatment. This allows you to get a clear idea in advance of the price range for your individual lip treatment.

Lip Fillers in Zurich – The Treatment at a Glance

What kinds of changes are possible with lip fillers?

Lip augmentation with hyaluronic acid allows for targeted treatment of various aspects of the lips. Depending on the initial condition, the focus may be on volume, contour, symmetry, or the proportions of the upper and lower lips. When planning a lip filler procedure in Zurich, consideration is given to which areas actually need to be altered and what the current shape of the lips is.

More Lip Volume

For naturally thin lips or lips that have lost volume over time, hyaluronic acid can be used in a targeted manner to restore fullness. The amount can be adjusted on an individual basis and distributed to specific areas of the upper or lower lip. It is also possible to gradually restore volume over the course of several treatments if only a subtle change is desired at first.

Define lip contours more clearly

Targeted dermal filler injections can more clearly highlight the lip line and shape individual areas of the contour with greater precision. For example, this can be used to accentuate the cupid’s bow of the upper lip or to define a less clearly defined lip line. Contouring can also be combined with moderate volume enhancement.

Correcting Asymmetries of the Lips

Differences between the right and left halves of the lips or between the upper and lower lips can be specifically addressed during treatment. Hyaluronic acid makes it possible to apply different amounts to individual areas, thereby visually correcting minor asymmetries. The extent to which such correction is possible depends on the individual’s anatomy and the cause of the asymmetry.

Adjust the proportions of the upper and lower lips

When it comes to lip injections at our practice in Zurich, the focus isn’t always on adding volume. Sometimes the goal is rather to specifically alter the proportions of the lips or the visibility of the upper lip. Depending on the initial condition, a lip flip may be an option in addition to a lip filler. In this procedure, no additional volume is added; instead, the upper lip is gently turned outward through targeted Botox treatment of the orbicularis oris muscle, making it more visible. You can learn more about this on our Lip Flip Zurich page.

Lip Fillers with Hyaluronic Acid – More Details About the Treatment

For lip augmentation at our practice in Zurich, we use only hyaluronic acid fillers. The volumizing effect typically lasts about six to twelve months and then gradually wears off, since the lips move particularly frequently when speaking, eating, or kissing.

The increase in volume is visible immediately after treatment. Due to temporary swelling of the tissue, the lips may initially appear fuller during the first two to three days. Only after the swelling subsides can the final result be realistically assessed.

Because they are relatively easy to administer, hyaluronic acid fillers are also suitable for patients who would first like to see to what extent a change in volume or contour meets their expectations. You can find general information about the use of hyaluronic acid and other fillers on the face on our page about wrinkle treatment with hyaluronic acid in Zurich.

Before lip augmentation, the desired changes and the anatomical characteristics of the lips are carefully assessed. During this process, we discuss which results are medically realistic and what potential risks are associated with the treatment.

Depending on the patient’s sensitivity, a local anesthetic may be administered before the procedure. The hyaluronic acid is then carefully injected into the appropriate anatomical tissue layer. The placement and amount depend on whether, for example, the patient desires more volume, more pronounced contouring, or targeted enhancement of specific areas of the lips.

After treatment, applying a cold compress can help reduce temporary swelling. You can find more practical tips for the first few days in our guide to aftercare following lip injections.

The hyaluronic acid used in lip fillers is biocompatible and is gradually broken down by the body over time. Hyaluronic acid also occurs naturally in the human body and is, among other things, a component of connective tissue.

Temporary redness and swelling may occur, particularly during the first one to two days after treatment. Minor bruising or temporary tenderness may also occur. Although the treatment is generally well tolerated, sensitivity reactions to excipients or other substances cannot be completely ruled out. In rare cases, other reactions such as hardening or encapsulation may occur.

As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of treatment with fillers can vary greatly and depends on the amount of active ingredient used. Naturally, the costs incurred will be discussed and determined in advance.

Depending on the scope of the procedure and the cost of materials, you should budget CHF 380–800 for volume fillers.

Health insurance companies do not cover the application as it is an aesthetic treatment of choice.

The cost of an initial on-site consultation is CHF 150 (CHF 250 for surgery). This amount can be credited towards your treatment if it takes place within 6 months. If you do not show up for the bindingly agreed initial appointment, a cancellation fee of CHF 150 will be charged (for surgeries, a cancellation fee of 50% of the surgery costs will be charged if the cancellation is made less than 7 days before the surgery date).

Frequently Asked Questions About Lip Fillers in Zurich

Answers to the most important questions about the procedure, results, side effects, and follow-up care.

The amount needed depends on the natural shape of the lips and the desired change. For subtle contouring, less hyaluronic acid may be sufficient than for more pronounced volume enhancement. The dosage is therefore determined on an individual basis.

Swelling is normal immediately after treatment and may be more pronounced during the first two to three days. It then typically subsides gradually, allowing you to better assess the results over time.

Pain sensitivity varies from person to person. If necessary, a local anesthetic can be administered before treatment to make the injections more comfortable.

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be selectively broken down using the enzyme hyaluronidase if medically necessary or if an undesirable result occurs. Whether and to what extent this is appropriate must be assessed on a case-by-case basis by a physician.

In the first few days after treatment, you should avoid strenuous physical activity as much as possible, as it can cause swelling and bruising. When it is safe to resume exercise depends on your individual healing process.

Since hyaluronic acid is gradually broken down by the body, the treatment can be repeated or refreshed as needed. The appropriate timing depends on the remaining volume, the shape of the lips, and the desired result.
