Breast Lift in Zurich - For harmoniously shaped breasts that better reflect how you feel about your body.
Sagging or drooping breasts can result from pregnancy, weight fluctuations, or simply the passage of time. With a customized breast lift, excess skin can be removed, the remaining breast tissue can be reshaped, and the breasts can be lifted to a higher position.
Information on breast lifting
A breast lift may be considered if the breast has visibly sagged and the existing tissue is no longer adequately supported by the stretched skin. As a result, the nipple is often lower than before or points more downward. The shape may also change: the upper part of the breast appears flatter, while the tissue increasingly accumulates in the lower part.
During the surgery, excess skin is removed and the existing breast tissue is reshaped to create a more compact and higher-positioned breast. At the same time, the nipple and areola can be adjusted to fit the new breast shape. If necessary, an enlarged or stretched areola can be reduced in size. The extent of these changes depends on the individual breast shape, skin condition, and the degree of sagging.
The goal is a more harmonious and firmer breast shape that complements the body’s natural proportions. In a breast lift alone, the existing breast volume is generally preserved. However, the reshaping and higher position can make the breasts appear more compact and fuller in the upper portion. This does not, however, result in an actual increase in breast volume.
In principle, a breast lift can be performed:
- Only through implant placement, if the primary issue is a lack of volume and there is only slight sagging. The implant restores volume to the breast and can make it appear firmer. However, this does not correct a significantly lowered nipple position or pronounced excess skin.
- By exclusively resecting the skin and shifting and repositioning the existing glandular tissue. This is a particularly useful method in cases where there is still sufficient glandular tissue of the patient's own, which has only sagged due to gravity (especially as the breast also looks much more voluminous due to the shift in height of the glandular tissue and the tighter skin). (breast lift / mastopexy)
- A combination of both methods, i.e. tightening the skin on the one hand and inserting an implant cushion to increase volume on the other (augmentation mastopexy). (Augmentation mastopexy)
We explain in more detail which of these options is suitable for each individual situation in our guide, “Breast Lift or Breast Augmentation: When Is Which Procedure Recommended?”
Breast lift prices in Zurich
The cost of a breast lift in Zurich depends on the individual’s specific situation, the extent of the necessary tissue and skin correction, and the surgical technique chosen. Each breast lift is therefore planned on a case-by-case basis following a personal examination and a detailed consultation.
The cost typically ranges from CHF 7,000 to CHF 11,000. Depending on the findings, factors such as the incision technique, the duration of the procedure, and whether the breast lift is performed on its own or in combination with a breast augmentation may vary. Based on this information, you will receive a transparent estimate of the total expected cost.
What factors influence the cost?
The cost of a breast lift depends primarily on the following factors:
- Extent of skin laxity
- Required cuts
- Extent of breast tissue regeneration
- Duration of Surgery and Anesthesia
- Inpatient or outpatient treatment
- Combination with other procedures, such as breast augmentation or breast reduction.

Further details on the breast lift
The approach taken depends, on the one hand, on the patient’s expectations regarding her desired breast shape and, on the other hand, on her individual anatomical characteristics. These include skin elasticity, the amount of existing glandular tissue, the degree of ptosis—that is, sagging of the breast—and other factors.
During a detailed, one-on-one consultation, the patient’s wishes are discussed in relation to the medically and surgically achievable results. Based on this, Dr. Peter Dietz determines the appropriate surgical method to achieve a firmer and more harmonious breast shape. The pre- and post-operative guidelines are largely the same as those for breast augmentation.
A mastopexy can be performed on an outpatient basis. However, for more extensive procedures, we recommend an overnight stay. Depending on the amount of excess skin, either a vertical incision is used or, in cases of more significant excess skin, an anchor-shaped incision, which results in an additional scar in the inframammary fold.
In most cases, the nipple and areola are repositioned higher on the breast. This results in a circular scar along the edge of the areola. In a breast lift alone, the existing breast volume is generally preserved. Excess skin is removed and the glandular tissue is reshaped. This can make the breast appear more compact and, especially in the upper area, fuller, without actually adding additional volume.
What factors influence how stable the new breast shape will remain over the long term? You can learn more about this in our guide “ How long do the results of a breast lift last? Factors that affect the long-term outcome “.
After a breast lift, the body needs time to heal. Temporary changes in sensitivity in the breast or nipple area may occur. Less commonly, postoperative bleeding, infections, wound healing complications, or noticeable scars may occur. Slight differences in the shape or height of the breasts may also persist.
In very rare cases, blood flow to the skin or the nipple may be impaired. In some cases, corrective surgery may be necessary. To ensure that you can make a confident and well-informed decision, Dr. Peter Dietz will discuss all personal and general risks associated with the surgery and anesthesia with you in detail before the procedure.
After the surgery, we’ll apply an elastic latex bandage to help keep the breast in shape. After 2–3 days (following the first bandage change), you should wear a well-fitting sports bra; this should be worn day and night for 3 weeks, and then only during the day for another 3 weeks.
After a short recovery period, you’ll be able to resume your daily routine and return to work after 7–10 days. However, you should avoid physical activity for 6 weeks to allow the tissue to heal undisturbed.
As with any cosmetic procedure, the cost of surgery depends on the type and extent of the operation. These are made up of the anesthesia fee, the duration of the operation and our fee note.
We will discuss these costs with you in detail beforehand and a fixed fee will be set, regardless of how long the procedure ultimately takes. This allows you to calculate precisely. As this is an elective procedure, the costs are not usually covered by health insurance.
Price for a breast lift:
between CHF 7,000 and CHF 11,000
The cost of an initial on-site consultation is CHF 250. This amount can be credited towards your treatment if it takes place within 6 months. If you do not show up for the bindingly agreed initial appointment, a cancellation fee of CHF 150 will be charged.
The following rule applies to agreed surgery appointments: In the case of planned and scheduled operations, it is often not possible for Medicine&Beauty AG to find a replacement patient in the event of a cancellation. Due to these planning difficulties, it is only possible to cancel surgery appointments free of charge if this is done in writing by the customer at least 7 days (calendar days) in advance by e-mail or WhatsApp.
For cancellations made less than 7 calendar days before the planned operation, the customer will be charged 50% of the previously agreed operation costs. Appointments canceled by Medicine&Beauty AG for health, medical or technical reasons cannot be refunded or compensated. An alternative date will be offered at no additional cost.

Frequently asked questions about breast lifts in Zurich
Here you'll find concise information on the most important topics related to breast lifts.
Can a breast lift correct existing differences between the two breasts?
Differences in shape, size, or nipple position can be taken into account during surgical planning and can often be significantly reduced. However, it is not possible to guarantee that both breasts will have an identical shape. In cases of more pronounced differences, additional measures may be advisable. You can learn more about this on our page on breast asymmetry.
Can a breast lift be performed after a previous breast surgery?
A breast lift may generally be an option even after a previous breast augmentation, breast reduction, or breast lift. When planning a new procedure, the appearance of existing scars, the condition of the tissue, and the technique used previously are particularly important. You should therefore bring any existing surgical reports with you to the consultation, if possible.
Is it still possible to have a mammogram after a breast lift?
Yes, breast cancer screening exams can be performed even after a breast lift. The radiologist should be informed about the procedure before the exam. Depending on your age and personal medical history, a mammogram or ultrasound may be recommended even before the surgery. For more general information, please visit our page on breast surgery.
Does health insurance cover the cost of a breast lift?
A breast lift is usually performed for cosmetic reasons and must therefore generally be paid for out of pocket. Coverage of the costs is only possible in exceptional cases where there is a medical justification, and this must be clarified directly with the health insurance provider before the procedure.
